Endocrinologist at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán (INCMNSZ) in Mexico City, where he serves as Head of the Centro de Atención Integral del Paciente con Diabetes (CAIPaDi). His clinical, academic, and research work focuses on type 2 diabetes, diabetic foot prevention, diabetes complications, obesity, metabolism, patient education, and multidisciplinary models of care.
He has authored or co-authored more than 90 scientific publications and numerous book chapters, guidelines, and consensus documents. Dr. Hernández-Jiménez has held leadership roles in Mexican and Latin American endocrinology and diabetes organizations, including the Consejo Mexicano de Endocrinología and the Asociación de Médicos del INCMNSZ. He trained in medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Diabetology at INCMNSZ.
