Maud van den Berg

Maud van den Berg is a PhD candidate at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management in the Netherlands, specializing in the implementation of value-based maternity care. She led a funded research project focused on care pathway redesign and the development of an outcome-based provider payment model. For this work, Maud received the NEJM Catalyst Implementation Award at the 2023 ICHOM conference. Her areas of expertise include care pathway optimization, value-based evaluation using Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing, clinical outcomes, PROMs and PREMs, and development of alternative payment models. Maud holds a Master’s degree in Health Care Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is passionate about making healthcare systems more efficient, equitable, sustainable, and centered around what matters to patients.
