Laura Cooley, PhD is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Patient Experience and Co-Editor of the book Communication Rx. As former education lead for The Academy of Communication in Healthcare, she is an internationally recognized expert in patient experience and relationship-centered communication. Dr. Cooley advises healthcare organizations on strategies to drive authentic human interaction. She applies evidence-informed principles to improve the quality of human encounters and technology applications. She holds a PhD in Health Communication and frequently serves as a keynote speaker, facilitator, and expert advisor. Her mission is to reduce suffering for patients, families, and healthcare professionals through enhanced communication and relational science.
