Lisbeth Snede

President
PiCC United

Lisbeth Snede is the President of PiCC United, an international organisation dedicated to promoting meaningful patient engagement. With over two decades of experience, she has worked across the healthcare system in Denmark and Europe, co-leading large-scale multi-stakeholder initiatives such as EU-X-CT and serving as a mentor for EIT Health and MedTech startups.

Lisbeth has made significant contributions to the integration of user-centred design, clinical trial accessibility, and regulatory frameworks in public healthcare. Her passion for inclusive, cross-professional collaboration and patient-driven innovation is evident through her active roles in EUPATI, the Science as Culture publication on co-producing knowledge in drug development, and various advisory boards.

As a boardmember of EUPATI, she is a strong voice for amplifying underrepresented patient perspectives and creating accessible paths to participation in research and health policy. Her work consistently highlights the need to lower barriers to involvement while upholding the value of lived experience as expert knowledge.

“Fundamentally, I firmly believe that our identity should not be defined by our illnesses. Over more than three decades of struggling with various diagnoses, I have utilised this journey to strengthen my role as an advocate and patient expert. Living with rheumatoid arthritis, which is one of my diagnoses, has given me an in-depth knowledge of the complicated web of co-morbidities often associated with such conditions.” – Lisbeth Snede
